Hello friends, in this tutorial i will tell u how to customize and add animated blog's headlines in blogger blog. Getting an Animated banner with rotating headlines is very easy. You don't have to design for such banners, just register an account at www.feedburner.com and they themselves create such banners for you freely. Follow this simple steps.....

First you will have to register at Feedburner and burn your blog feed as shown in Feedburner and Blog Feeds ( as shown in pic).
Then login to your account and click on your Blog name. Click on Publicize and then on Headline animator ... Scroll down till you come to ClickThrough URL. Here paste the URL of your blog. This is because you will be using it in the header. Then click the drop down arrow under Theme and select Provide Your own Background. In Background Image URL box paste the Url of the image you have Uploaded to a freehost .and click the Load Button. The image will appear in the bottom. Click and drag the Title, Date and post titles headings to position the and then click on activate. Scroll upwards and click the Down arrow in Add To text box. Select "Other. Just Gimme the code" at the bottom. Click Next to get the code and paste this code in your Html/Javascript Page Element in the blog header. See the one I created below :
Now to get the code by selecting the other(just gemme the code) in drop down menu above . After getting the code u can place it in your header or u can place it below every post or u can place it at side of the the blog(as widget).

To place it below every post...sign in into blogger »» Layout »» Edit HTML .. then search for and just below this add code of headline animator u have created.

First u need to find some flash animations, u can easily find them over google or u can make your own flash animation using macromedia flash, or amara banner creator.

After you saved the animation you need to put it online like uploading it over and file hosting site
googlepages or ripway, since Blogger does not allow you to upload any SWF files you need to upload them to your own webserver, i've put my animation on googlepages.

The latest file sharing protocol bittorrent has modified everything when it comes to file sharing. It is a nice platform for downloading large files. Sharing of files include movies, iso images and MP3 songs. Bittorent is mainly famous for illegal file sharing .The Bittorrent system can be slow at times due to heavy traffic.Here is a few tips to speed up uTorrent Client. Similar can be implemented on any other torrent clients ,which you are using.

Step 1: Increase TCP connections

You need to increase the number of TCP connections that are allowed at max.Windows XP Service Pack 2 came with the number of allowed open connections to 10. This is to stop any piece of spyware(in our case bittorent client even) from totally taking over your internet connection. TCP connection allowed should be 50 for optimal performance. The best way to increase the maximum number of connections is to apply patch that is available at www.lvllord.de. A nice way to fix this is to download this patch .

The little tweak to the torrent client works great in certain times. If you’re using uTorrent go to Options menu then Preferences. In the Preferences go the Advanced Options.

In the advanced options change the net.max_halfopen connections to 80. In the same section change the max half open tcp connections to 80. Once your done click on OK and you are all set. This tweak will let the maximum TCP connection available for the bittorrent client. Now start downloading you’ll realize a little difference in the download speed. A third point of interest is that some “windows updates” revert your tweaked tcp connections back to 10. So it’s wise to check this every now and then. You can check this by going to (in windows xp) Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > System… Look for event 4226 (sort by event).
If there are a lot of daily occurences it’s likely that the max amount of half-open tcp connections was set back to 10. Or you’re infected with some nasty spyware…

Step 2:Torrent Client Configuration

Do you ever want to access your desktop, or shortcut icons on your desktop when your screen is cluttered with windows which you don't want to minimize?

A simple solution. Place a shortcut to your desktop atop your START Menu. Here's how:

1) Right click on your TASKBAR and choose PROPERTIES.
2) Select the START MENU PROGRAMS tab, then the ADVANCED button.
3) In the right panel, under the PROGRAMS folder, you will see any shortcuts you have already placed atop your START menu. Right click here in the white space here and choose NEW, then SHORTCUT.

4. In the command line for your shortcut, type c:\windows\desktop (If your Windows directory has another name, substitute that name for windows).

5. Click NEXT. Then in the name box, name your shortcut Desktop.

6. Click the FINISH button.

7. Close the Explorer window, then click ok in TASKBAR PROPERTIES.

8. Now, open START on your taskbar. VOILA! Your desktop folder icon should be visible. Click it to open your desktop folder.
Success!
You will now be able to view and access your desktop shortcut icons (not non-shortcut icons). If you want ALL desktop icons to be visible (Recycle Bin, My Computer etc.), you will need to place shortcuts to these other icons on your desktop.

Hacking internet Cafe

Basic overview of this tutorial is if there's some kind of timer or client
software on the computer you're using at the Net Cafe you can hopefully disable it.

Firstly we need to gain access to command prompt (cmd.exe) to do this there's a few
ways.

1) The most basic is to go Start/Run/cmd.exe and a black input screen should pop up.
Say that's disabled then we can try some other methods.

2) Press the Windows Logo + R and it will start run up. (hopefully)

3) Navigate your way to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and run cmd.exe from in there.

4) Open notepad type "cmd.exe" without the quotation marks ("") and then
go to File/Save As.. and type the name for the file and have it end with
.bat for example "MyNewFile.bat" and select Save as type and select All Files.

Make sure to save it somewhere you can access it, Like the desktop.

If they have deleted Notepad then go in to Internet Explorer and right click
and select View Source or on the menu bar click View then source and perform the
same process as above.

Once you have done this you can run the file. If you can't open files from the desktop
then go back into Internet Explorer and go to View/Explorer Bar/Folders and navigate to
the Desktop and it will show the saves files on the desktop in a folder type window.

Once you have access to command prompt you can perform some usefull actions e.g shutdown
programs, shutdown other peoples computers, add new accounts.

Ok, well most Net cafes have software running that boots you off of the machine after a certain
ammount of time unless you pay for more time. Well, we don't want that to happen now do we?

Firstly try figure out the Net Cafes timeing/credit softwares name cause this can help.

For more info on the software running we can use the command "tasklist" inside of command prompt.

example: "tasklist" (without quotation marks)

Basicly it brings up all the processes running.

Now say we know the process name for the Net Cafes software we need to disable it. So, how do we do that?
we use "taskkill" >:]

Basicly kills the process we specifcy. Say the Net Cafes software is "Timer.exe" for example and it's shown in
the task list like that we would do this.

example: "taskkill /im Timer.exe /f"

/im : is for image name. Not quite sure what it means, but we need it.

Timer.exe : that's the Net cafes software/process name (example)

/f : Forcefully shuts the program.

Now hopefully your Net Cafes software is terminated and you can freely use their computer with no time restriction.

If you have no luck finding the Net Cafes software name then just try ending processes that Windows Doesn't rely on.

Perhaps you want to have a little fun with people on the network at the Net cafe? well here's a few things for you
to do with command prompt.

Find the people on the network with "net view" and it will list the other computers names on the network.

The shutdown command. Basically the shutdown command will shutdown a computer on the network or your own computer (comes in
handy)

example: "shutdown -s -m HJCPwnts -t 20 -c You're being shutdown"

use "shutdown -a" to cancel this action so you don't shut your own computer down.

-s : sets the shutdown action.

-m : specify the computer name (HJCPwts) that's what my computer name would be on the network. (to find out
how to find computer names use net view. It will list the other computer names.)

-t : the time until shutdown in seconds. Just specify it for 0 if you want it instant.

-c : the comment that will be shown on the shutdown window (not needed, but goo to leave the victim a message)

-f : I left this one out because it shuts the applications the user is running down, but add it on the end when doing
it to someone else.

Now for some more stuff. Perhaps we want to create a new account on this computer and login to it? Well, lets do it then. Ok, this is how we do it.

In command prompt type "net user CoolGuy /add" this basically adds a new user by the name of CoolGuy. Simple ehh?
well we have struck a problemo. How the hell do we login to that account? EASY!

In fact we have already covered most of it. We will be using the shutdown command again.

"shutdown -l" : basicly this logs us out and we can log back in with the CoolGuy account.

-l : sets the logout action.

Ok, so you have had your fun with the new account now and you want to get rid of it in case
of the Net Cafe staff finding it. Well that's simple aswell, all we do is..

"net user CoolGuy /delete" and it will delete that user. Make sure to check it has been
deleted by using "net user" and it will show the accounts.

For those who aren't keen on opening up their PC to put in more memory, Windows Vista has a handy little feature called ReadyBoost that can use USB sticks for additional memory. Proving once again that we control the computer and not the other way around, here's four simple steps to get around this limitation and use any USB stick you have to increase your computers memory.

1.SetUp

First things first. Plug the device in. Ignore AutoPlay if you have the enabled, and go to Computer in the start menu. When it pops up, right-click the USB stick and select properties.

2. Disable the stick

Click on the Readyboost tab on the properties menu and check Do not restest this device. Click okay and unplug the stick from your computer.

3. Edit the registry!

Woah! Don't panic, it's not as frightening as it sounds. Firstly, you need to open regedit, by opening the start menu and typing regedit, then enter. The registry window should load up.

Using the left-hand pane, work your way through the following folders: HKLM (Local Machine) -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> CurrentVersion -> EMDgmt. You'll have a list of USB devices the computer has encountered, one of which should be your USB stick. Click on it.

Here there's a few details you need to edit. Double click on Device Status and change the value to 2, then ok. Do the same for ReadSpeedKBs and WriteSpeedKBs, changing their values to both 1000. Exit the regedit and breathe a sigh of relief.

4. And back in again

Now all that's left to do is put the stick back in and once again go to the device properties (Computer > Right-click on drive). If you look under the Readyboost Tab, you'll be able to now select Use this device. Success! Now enjoy your faster PC.

Delhi blast: Indian Mujahideen takes responsibility

The militant outfit Indian Mujahideen has claimed responsibility of Delhi serial blast which went up on Saturday evening leaving at least 18 dead and scores injured.

Reportedly, in an e-mail to a private news channel the militant organisation that had earlier taken responsibility of July 26 Ahmedabad serial bombings made this claim, though the police is unsure about its involvement.

Meanwhile, the police had said that that they didn’t have any prior intelligence input on these blasts.

As per reports, the Islamic militant group had sent a mail to Zee News, which claimed that nine blasts would be strike Delhi within five minutes. The mail was sent by ‘Arbi Hind’ from the email id al-arbi_delhi@yahoo.com.

The five blasts that rocked the national capital in different busy market places have so far claimed 18 lives and injured over 100. The injured have been immediately rushed to the nearest Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital.

The blasts at Ghaffar market in Karol Bagh, Connaught Place and Greater Kailash took place in a quick succession, police said.

The first blast took place at Ghaffar market at 6.10 p.m. in which at least 20 people were injured.

Immediately after that, two explosions took place in Connaught Place in which at least 10 people were injured.

Another explosion rocked M-Block market in Greater Kailash-I.

Senior Police officials including Joint Commissioner of Police Karnail Singh had rushed to the spot in the central district and were assessing the situation.

President, Prime Minister condemn blasts

The Prime Minister, President, Vice President and Home Minister have strongly condemned serial blasts in the heart of Indian capital Delhi.

President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has been grieved by the tragic turn of events in Delhi. She has strongly condemned the serial blasts and condoled the loss of lives in this mindless act of violence. The President wishes speedy recovery to the injured and appeals to the people of Delhi to maintain peace and calm in the face of this adversity.

Amy Fife, a single mother of two, wants to sell her mid-sized sport utility vehicle for something more fuel efficient.

"Years ago I never paid much attention to the price of gas," says the 37-year-old Portland, Ore., administrative assistant. But with gas prices around $4 a gallon and her 10-year-old Chevrolet Trailblazer, which the Environmental Protection Agency estimates gets an average of 16 miles per gallon, she's been noticing an increasing pinch on her budget.

Fife had decided to swap her SUV for a Subaru Impreza, one of the safest small cars on the market and among the 10 highlighted in the accompanying slideshow. But now she's waiting to do it, as she can't find anyone willing to buy her Trailblazer for its estimated market value.

Although economic concerns make fuel economy a prime focus for car shoppers, safety should be at the top of the checklist as well — particularly for those looking to downsize their vehicle.

We've assembled a list of 10 models with outstanding safety ratings. They rate as "compact" within their respective classes, though some, like the BMW X3 crossover utility vehicle, aren't exactly "small" compared to the tinniest cars on the market. The X3 is, however, smaller and more fuel-efficient than many SUVs. And that makes it a good choice for folks considering stepping down from a full-size SUV.

The same is true of the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester, also on our list of safest compact vehicles. Go to the accompanying slideshow for the full list.

Even if you're considering a vehicle not on our list, there are some key features to look for that can mean the difference between life and death in a collision. Read on to find out what they are.

Weight matters

What ultimately matters in a collision isn't a vehicle's weight alone but its difference in weight from other vehicles on the road, says Mike Dulberger, president of Informed For Life, a non-profit safety information organization.

The average weight of a new passenger vehicle — classified as "light-duty" by the government — rose from 3,221 pounds in 1997 to 4,144 pounds in 2007. Ironically, adding more safety equipment over the years — some of it federally mandated — is one of the reasons for the weight gain.

"You don't want to stick out" in terms of size and weight, Dulberger says, because the more you do, the greater the risk. "With some of the lightest-weight vehicles, you're trading in weight for risk," he says.

Fatality rates are about three times as high for small, light cars than for large, heavy ones, according to national crash statistics.

"That doesn't mean you have to buy a tank," says Russ Rader, a spokesman for the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. "The benefits of weight start to diminish after a certain point." Anything over about 4,500 is going to be substantially heavier than the vast majority of passenger vehicles on the road, so extra heft beyond that doesn't make much difference when it comes to safety.

"But for the kind of driving that most people do, they should be avoiding the smallest cars," he says. "No matter how many airbags you have, you're still at a higher risk" in the smallest cars.

Jon Linkov, managing editor, autos, at Consumer Reports, agrees. "Bigger will at the end of the day be safer," he says. "However, heavier means lower fuel economy."

Savvy downsizing

If fuel economy is a top concern, you don't have to downsize to the smallest vehicles available to get improvements in gas mileage. "Consumers can think about downsizing the engine, not the car," Rader says.

Many of the safest mid-sized sedans offer frugal four-cylinder engines that in some cases deliver fuel economy close to that of smaller cars. For example, opting for the four-cylinder engine in a mid-sized Chevrolet Malibu, instead of the larger, more powerful six-cylinder, will actually get you similar gas mileage to the smaller Chevrolet Cobalt, around 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, according to EPA estimates.

"We don't need all of the horsepower that automakers have been pumping into cars for the past 10 years," Rader says.

But if you're set on a smaller vehicle, either for its nimbleness, lower price or higher fuel-efficiency, pay close attention to safety features. "There are some big differences in how well small cars protect you," Rader says.

Side-curtain airbags

One way some small cars aren't as safe as others is in side impacts. Each year, more than 9,000 occupants die in side-impact crashes, most of them from head injuries, according to IIHS statistics.

In analyzing government data on auto accidents, the IIHS has found that side airbags that protect the head, chest and abdomen cut the risk of fatalities in side-impact crashes by 37 percent. Head-protecting airbags are now standard equipment on about 66 percent of all new vehicles.

"Curtain airbags in particular are especially important with small cars," Dulberger says. Like their name implies, these types of airbags typically deploy from the ceiling.

The reason side-curtain airbags are so crucial in small cars is because the cars are lower and lighter than most other vehicles. So, for example, some trucks' bumpers are in line with small-car occupants' heads. This means that if a two-and-a-half-ton pickup t-bones a little hatchback, it could seriously injure the occupants.

In recent years, automakers have made progress in lowering the bumpers and crash structures of some of their largest SUVs, but crash incompatibility is still an issue.

Electronic stability control

Another safety feature to look for is electronic stability control, a lifesaving technology that has been found to reduce the risk of fatal single-vehicle rollovers by up to 80 percent for SUVs and 77 percent for cars, and could prevent nearly one-third of all fatal crashes, according to IIHS statistics. By automatically adjusting throttle and braking forces on each wheel, electronic stability control helps prevent skidding and spinning on slippery surfaces or during emergency maneuvers.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's crash-rating system doesn't take into account the role of electronic stability control. But the NHTSA estimates that 10,000 lives would be saved annually if every vehicle had the technology. Electronic stability control will be required on all vehicles in 2012 and beyond.

Many small cars lack the feature, even as an option. "Nobody should ever buy a car without electronic stability control," says Dulberger.

Rader of the IIHS agrees and adds that electronic stability control is even more important in small cars because it can help prevent collisions, as opposed to just protect occupants during an accident, like airbags do. "If you can avoid the crash, that's even better," he says.

But the idea that small cars are more maneuverable and can more readily avoid crashes compared to larger vehicles isn't substantiated by crash statistics, Rader says. "Small cars tend to get in more crashes," says Rader, even when normalized for driving conditions and types of drivers.

Electronic stability also reduces the rollover concerns that accompany smaller but taller vehicles, especially for so-called crossover utility vehicles that offer versatile, spacious interiors while only taking up the parking footprint of a compact sedan or coupe. Rollovers are a factor in 33 percent of fatal accidents in the United States, according to safercar.gov.

"There used to be a tradeoff with SUVs for rollovers, and that's really dramatically changing due to electronic stability control," Rader says, pointing to the Honda CR-V, Honda Element and Subaru Forester, all "Top Safety Picks" from the IIHS. With some exceptions, such compact utility vehicles are generally the safer bet today than traditional compact cars, which often share the same underpinnings. That's because their added weight compared to compact cars makes them inherently safer, Rader says, adding that crossover utility vehicles also tend to have more standard safety equipment.

Even compared to all those hulking SUVs on the road, smaller car-based crossovers are often a safer choice, particularly when looking at models like the mid-sized Chevrolet Trailblazer, which have been around for a while and don't have the latest advancements.

"Whether you go to one of these small utility vehicles or a small car, you're going to get better handling, a more compliant ride and more maneuverability," often with better safety, provided you pick one of the vehicles with the best crash ratings, says Consumer Reports' Linkov.

Our top safety picks

To compile our list, we looked at passenger-car and crossover-utility models less than 180 inches long and ruled out those without electronic stability control or side-curtain airbags as standard or optional equipment.

Disregarding any vehicles with less than four stars from the NHTSA or an 'Acceptable' rating from the IIHS in frontal and side crash tests, we selected 10 vehicles with top crash-test ratings, also paying attention to Informed for Life's Statistical Combination of Risk Elements (SCORE), which includes things like weight and rollover ratings and more accurately corresponds to fatality figures than do either the IIHS or NHTSA results by themselves.

SCORE ratings represent relative safety risk across all types of vehicles, so a vehicle with a SCORE of 50 represents half the fatality risk of a vehicle with a SCORE of 100.

Như đã nói, với torrent bạn có thể tìm được nhiều thứ bạn muốn như nhạc, phim, game, ... thậm chí là nhiều thứ độc đáo khác như các tác phẩm phim kinh điển, những quyển ebook quý hiếm. Bài viết này sẽ hướng dẫn bạn cách thức tìm, tải và xem các bộ phim mới, hay thậm chí là các phim mới nóng hổi đang chiếu ngoài rạp. Đồng thời cũng cung cấp cho bạn những lưu ý khi tải phim bằng torrent và cách có thể xem phim.
Trước hết phải thừa nhận rằng cách thức tải file thông qua torrent là không hợp pháp, bởi nó liên quan đến vấn đề bản quyền. Vì thế tôi không cổ vũ, khuyến khích các bạn sử dụng. Mà ở đây trong khuôn khổ bài viết này, tôi chỉ mang đến cho các bạn không có điều kiện (ở những nơi không có rạp chiếu phim, xa trung tâm, không có điều kiện,...) một cách thức để có thể thưởng thức, tiếp cận với những bộ phim mới, những bộ phim đang chiếu ở rạp, những bộ phim mà các bạn chỉ nghe nói đến.
Như trong bài viết Các website chia sẻ Torrent Việt Nam đã giới thiệu, với 3 website chia sẻ torrent dành cho cộng động người Việt Nam, bạn có thể tìm thấy nhiều bộ phim nổi tiếng của Việt Nam ở đây như là: Chuyện của Pao, Sống Trong Sợ Hãi, Dòng Máu Anh Hùng, Áo Lụa Hà Đông,... thậm chí là Xuân Hinh 2008. Lưu ý chung:
- Khi tìm torrent, sẽ có nhiều torrent, bạn nên lựa chọn những torrent có nhiều seed và peer nhất (có Health cao), các torrent mới nhất. Đồng thời xem các nhận xét (nếu có) dưới mỗi torrent. Tránh tình trạng treo đầu dê bán thịt chó, hoặc tải về không xem được, rất mất thời gian và công sức.
- Với mỗi phim, bạn nên tìm hiểu về chúng (nội dung, diễn viên,...). Theo cá nhân tôi thì không đâu hơn được MoviesBoOm. Một trang chuyên về phim ảnh, có nhiều bài viết, bình và giới thiệu phim rất hay. Một nơi đáng để bạn tham khảo thông tin về phim bạn muốn xem.
- Với các phim nước ngoài tải từ các torrent nước ngoài, do ngôn ngữ là Tiếng Anh nên bạn sẽ gặp một chút khó khăn khi nghe và xem phim. Tuy nhiên có một cách để bạn có thể hiểu được nội dung thoại và phim đó là sử dụng phụ đề. Tuy nhiên với cách này, bạn cũng phải có một chút ít vốn Tiếng Anh.
Để sử dụng phụ đề các bạn làm như sau:
Bước 1: Tìm phụ đề
Có khá nhiều trang cung cấp phụ đề cho phim như: Subscene, MySubtitles,... nhưng theo tôi Subscene là khá nhất. Có hầu hết phụ đề cho các phim ở đây bằng nhiều thứ tiếng (có cả Việt Nam, nhưng Tiếng Anh là chủ yếu).
Bước 2: Chuẩn bị
Sau khi tải và có được phụ đề. Bạn copy file phụ đề và phim vào cùng một thư mục. Nhớ đổi tên phim và tên file phụ đề giống nhau (chỉ khác nhau phần mở rộng, tập tin phụ đề thường có phần mở rộng là SMI, SRT, SUB, TXT).
Để phụ đề có thể hiển thị khi xem phim , bạn cần phải cài đặt K Lite Mega Codec Pack. Đây cũng là một phần mềm khuyên dùng bởi ngoài khả năng hỗ trợ hiển thị phụ đề, K Lite Mega Codec Pack còn có thể chơi được nhiều định dạng video khác nhau như: WMV, AVI, DivX, MPEG, RMVB,... Mà khi bạn tải phim về tư torrent thì định dạng của nó là rất phổ biến.
Sau khi cài đặt K Lite Mega Codec Pack, bạn thiết lập như sau:
- Thiết lập cho ffdshow VFW:
Bạn vào menu Start > All Programs > K-Lite codec pack > Configuration > ffdshow VFW. Trong thẻ Encoder chọn Input (cột bên trái) và bấm nút Configure. Trong khung hiện ra đánh dấu kiểm vào ô Subtitles (cột bên trái).
Tiếp tục mở thẻ Decoder, bạn cũng thực hiện việc đánh dấu kiểm vào ô Subtitles.
Mở menu Start > All Programs > K-Lite codec pack > Configuration > ffdshow video decoder và thao tác thiết lập các tùy chọn như trên một lần nữa.
Khi xem phim, nếu bạn thấy có hai phụ đề trùng lên nhau thì có thể vào menu Start > All Programs > K-Lite codec pack > Configuration > DirectVobSub. Chọn thẻ Misc, đánh dấu kiểm vào ô Hide Subtitle, còn nếu khi xem phim mà không thấy phụ đề thì bỏ dấu kiểm tại ô Hide Subtitle này đi.

Như vậy là bạn có thể xem bộ phim chất lượng cao rồi đấy. Hơn nữa việc xem phim với phụ đề Tiếng Anh lại có thể giúp bạn nâng cao khả năng Anh ng. Còn chờ gì nữa, hãy bật loa lên và thưởng thức đi thôi. Chúc bạn có những giây phút thư giãn thoải mái.

World Phone launches internet service at Rs 95 a month in Delhi/NCR

World Phone Internet Services has launched cable broadband internet service in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) at Rs 95 a month, at the speed of up to 256 kbps with a 200 MB data download limit.

The company has entered into an agreement with the television cable operators across Delhi and NCR for providing the service. World Phone also plans to launch its broadband service in Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmadabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata in the coming months. [Source: Economic Times]

''We hope that with this price tag and the quality of service we will be able to garner at least 5,000 subscriber in the first three months,'' said Aditya Ahluwalia, chairman, World Phone Internet Services Pvt. Ltd. ''Lower monthly commitment would be a strong and bold step by World Phone for enhancing broadband penetration in masses,'' he further added.

Ahluwalia disclosed that World Phone had entered into agreement with the television cable operators across Delhi and NCR for providing this service. Customers subscribing to World Phone's new monthly internet service tariff of Rs95 will get a speed of up to 256kbps with a 200MB data download limit.

As of now the services would be available in select areas only. After Delhi, World Phone plan to launch broadband in Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata in coming months.

Ahluwalia also said World Phone had other plans like unlimited plan, hourly plan and data limit based plan to suit different requirements of internet users.

World Phone will also start the concept of offering pre-paid service, using recharge vouchers from the cable operator.

This price band at its lowest rates is not the first time that the company has broken trends of high charges. Last year, World Phone became the first Indian internet service provider to announce the lowest possible tariff for its international call rates to USA, UK, Australia and Canada.

I just went through a preview of the next release of Mac OS X 10 - Leopard. It really is a stepping stone in the world of OS. Steve and his team of SE's have skinned the graphics to a next level and idealized concepts for the 21st century Mac users. Below are some snippets of the features, Leopard has to offer.....

1. Time Machine
This the most amazing 'Backup & Recovery feature introduced in any OS till date. The concept - implemntation makes the idea a cake walk but believe me, this is one feature which is the 'hightlight' of the version.

2. Core Animation
Well, the maestro has given the creative geeks a ease-of-use tool with which wonders can be created in reality on the screen.

3. WebClip / DashCode
I always wondered as to why is there no tool from Apple to create widgets easily (for end users) or design with a level of coding (for developers). Mac has the answer in the form of Web Clip (for end users) and DashCode (for developers).

4. Mail / iChat
All these days I was under the impression that Apple has stopped thinking about upgrading the Mail / Chat apps on the OS X, since loadz of open source communities have come up with better clients. However, with Leopard comes some addition to both Mail and iChat to make them better and add some options. However, iChat's complete features can be explored with another Mac users using iChat client. However, the added features of Tabbed Chat and iChat Theatre on iChat, Notes, To Do's and Stationary on Mail, things are much better.

5. Spaces
I would really not pat Steve for implmenting this cuz this is exactly the copy of Workspace feature on Linux OS. Steve and his Co has ridiculed MS for copying loadz of features on OS X in Vista. Since this is a copy of a feature designed on Linux already, I felt that it should not be highlighted, but the meastro thinks the other way around and features it as on of the Features of Leopard. I must say that the Graphic implemenation of work'Spaces' makes it look awesome.

6. 64 bit / Universal Applications
From a developers pov, these 201 days (from the day Apple moved onto Intel) has been a wild ride, I suppose. These guys managed to port all their applications to a whole new processor technology. Along with this, they are offering a feature in Leopard where-in all apps designed for 32 bit are gonna work on this 64 bit ready OS. This indeed is one of the many unsaid / no-talked stuff because it is boring to listen to from a end user perspective. However as a developer, my heart really goes for the guys who were belted to the core to achieve the deadline. My respect for these guys grows everytime I visit apple.com. They are also working towards setting up a bench mark so wider range of applications can be made to work upon. This has been the standout acheivement after Time Machine for me. Really Amazing!!!!

7. Spotlight
Hmm...Pretty much the same, but 2 new features has been included. You can now search for computers and contents of servers in a network. This is really cool feature. The other one being that, applications can be launched from the search result window by just clicking on the item or tapping Return button. Makes it much more easier to find and access anything you want.

Well, the above mentioned features are the best among the many that I came across. Leopard is going be released next Spring.

One more introduction to Mac HardWare community is Mac Pro which succeeds PowerMac G5(this is a history). Amazing hardware with cool capacity in terms of processing speed (upto 3 GHz), storage (upto 4 TBytes), Quad Xeon processors and some port connections on the front of the cabinet along with the regular ports on the back. Pretty cool.

Step 1: Obtain a dvd9 rip of the game (I used the WIIZARD DVD9 SSBB release for this tutorial)

Step 2: Run wiiscrubber on the iso , this will result in only the first layer of the dual layer disk being turned into an iso that is 4.37GB (4,699,979,776 bytes)

Step 3: Open the wiiscrubbed ISO with trucha signer and navigate to partition
(RSBE01) In the SYSFILES folder replace the main.dol with the main.dol file provided.

Step 4: Then navigate to the folder ROOT and then the subfolder module and replace the sora_menu_simple_ending.rel with the sora_menu_simple_ending.rel file provided. Then in the same folder replace the sora_menu_title.rel with the sora_menu_title.rel file provided. Finally replace the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel with the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel file provided.

Step 5: Navigate to the the ROOT/movie/param/us subfolder and replace each file (118 total) with the files provided to you in the (us) folder. You have to replace these one at a time so it will take a few minutes. Just take your time and make sure you replace them all.

Step 6: Right click on the partition (RSBE01) and trucha sign it!

Step 7: Close trucha signer and burn with imgburn at 4x (at least thats what I burn all my dvd's at)

Is your forum at risk being hacked? Or are you a member of a forum which is risk being hacked? If your answer is YES. Please go on reading, because I am going to revealed how hacker can hack a forum in just 5 minutes and download data from the forum including your password and how they decrypt it.

I would like to state this clear that I am not a hacker and i am not intend to do so. I am sharing this information for the sake of warning forum administrator and member of forum out there to be more caution.

The trick to hacking phpbb is simple as 1 2 3. Everyone can do it; it's a bug in phpbb. I got this piece of information through an underground forum which already been close down. Please refer to picture below, it's just a 9 step tutorial and you are in power to control the whole forum for only 5 minutes work.

Please do not ask me for further step because I am not going to give as this is just for informational purposes, sorry for that, I have personally sent out email to those forum which still risk being hacked about this piece of information and ask them to upgrade their version of phpbb.

Once hacker login to phpbb, they will do several thing, no doubt, they could just delete off the database or they can edit the template of phpbb or locked the forum. This could be done if these hackers have a bit knowledge about phpbb. For silent hacker, they could sneak in and retrieve information. They could get every password of member in the forum with just a few clicks. Phpbb do integrate an option to download a dump database of the forum through admin control panel. With the dump database, each member encrypted password could be decrypted with some tools found from the internet.

Please do bear in mind, when you register a forum, your email will also be stored in the database and at the same time hacker could try to login your email with password got from the forum.

Also, since MD5 hash reverse tool available out there is a database dictionary and collection of MD5 hash, you can safeguard yourself by choosing a good password which is hard to crack.

When you recieve an email, you receive more than just the message. The email comes with headers that carry important information that can tell where the email was sent from and possibly who sent it. For that, you would need to find the IP address of the sender. The tutorial below can help you find the IP address of the sender. Note that this will not work if the sender uses anonymous proxy servers.

First of all, the IP address is generally found in the headers enclosed beween square brackets, for instance, [129.130.1.1]
Finding IP address in Gmail

1. Log into your Gmail account with your username and password.
2. Open the mail.
3. To display the email headers,

Click on the inverted triangle beside Reply. Select Show Orginal.
4. manually find the IP address, proceed to 5.
5. Look for Received: from followed by the IP address between square brackets [ ].

Received: from [69.138.30.1] by web4587.mail.***.yahoo.com

6. If you find more than one Received: from patterns, select the last one.
7. Track the IP address of the sender

Finding IP address in Yahoo! Mail

1. Log into your Yahoo! mail with your username and password.

2. Click on Inbox or whichever folder you have stored your mail.

3. Open the mail.

4. If you do not see the headers above the mail message, your headers are not displayed. To display the headers,

In the Mail Options page, click on General Preferences

In this article, you will learn how to crack a MD5 hash, but the article is limited and does not include cracking salted MD5s. I?m terribly sorry but I haven?t actually researched that.

Now, we need a tool and a bunch of documents. Lets hope you have a little diskspace on your HDD.

The first and primary tool we are using is ?Cain & Abel?. But we will be using Cain, it can be downloaded from www.oxid.it (Click on Projects at the top and then download Cain & Abel ? one program).

Cain is a MD5 cracker, I dont really know wtf is Abel so lets just forget about that. You might be wondering why I haven?t used JTR (John the Ripper) in this article, I have been introduced to JTR a few times and read a few tuts on it but still, I hate all MS-DOS programs, unlike Cain which has a pwnage GUI.

Now, I?m assuming you have your hash. If you just want to test how good Cain can be (although the wordlists are the ones that are helping) and its options, then Google ?MD5 calculator? there are a few that encrypt strings to MD5 but make sure its not something like (5#$FD*&^%HFG@$@$). Now, most crackers cant do that kind of shit.
Choose a word, and maybe a number in between 0 and 99 or something else.

Now, on to the cracking! The MD5 I have on my hand is (562bed16598a6d9cbc07d2e9ba6cef97). Now, you can go off to databases and try to crack that just to see how effective the article is.

Now, what good is a cracker with its victim hash without a few decent wordlists, there is a wordlist (3000 KB+) that comes with Cain. Now, lets download a few wordlists.

Beijing to Go Wireless by 2009

One sixth of Beijing city is now covered by free WiFi service till the end of the Beijing Olympics this August. Beijing is leading 29 Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Shenzhen, to go wireless in the couple of years.

Tryout WiFi and WiMax signals are now available in the city's key financial and business districts as well as university and research areas. The whole city, with a rough size of 625 square kilometers, will be covered by the wireless service by 2009.

The infrastructure contractor CECT-ChinaComm Communications Co. promised to provide free wireless service through the end of the Beijing Olympics. After the Olympics, subscribers have to pay less than what ADSL subscribers currently pay for a monthly package rate at 120 RMB yuan ($17) for unlimited wireless access each month in the city.

I tried the free WiFi at some access points in town. In the Zhongguancun area, where harbors the country's most prestigious universities and research institutes, the wireless speed was usually fine. But in areas in east city, the accessibility was sometimes bad. In my office in a downtown area which is included in the wireless services, I didn't get any signal. I was by no means upset with the free service. Anyway, I have four different ways to get myself Interneted.

Telnet: Logging in to a remote computer

What is Telnet?

Telnet allows the user to log in to a remote computer. When you use telnet, it is as if your keyboard and screen are connected to the remote computer.

Telnet is important for two reasons: First, you can use it to access a remote computer on which you have an account. Second, the Internet has many public resources which you access via telnet.

To use telnet, you run a telnet client program on your computer. This program uses the Internet to connect to the remote computer. The telnet client acts as an intermediary between you and the other computer. Everything you type on your keyboard is passed on to the other computer. Everything the other computer displays is sent to your computer where it appears on your screen. As a result, your keyboard and screen seem to be connected directly to the remote computer.

Telnet is actually the oldest of the various Internet services. The first service provided on the Arpanet was "remote login", that is, "telnet." Telnet is really a service that connects to a remote Internet computer and emulates a VT-100 terminal, the standard for connect to UNIX computers.

Basic Concepts

In telnet terminology, your computer is called the LOCAL computer. The other computer, the one to which your telnet client connects, is called the REMOTE computer.

In general, there are two ways to use telnet. First, you can connect to any computer on the Internet for which you have a shell account. When you do, you will see the standard login: and password: prompts. You can now log in and use the computer in the usual manner.

Second, there are many public resources which you can access via telnet. Some of these do not require a password. As soon as your telnet client makes the connection, you can start working with the remote computer. Many public library catalogs are set up in this manner.

Other public services do require passwords. The first time you connect to one of these systems, you will be asked to choose a user name and password. From then on, you would log in using whatever name and password you have chosen.

Using Your Telnet Client

Using a telnet client program is relatively simple. All you do is start the program, tell it the name of the remote host to which you want to connect. Once the connection with the host is established, you will see whatever message that computer displays as part of the starting procedure. If you connect to a UNIX computer which expects you to log in, it will start by displaying the line:

Type in the appropriate user name and press ENTER. You will then see the line:

password:

Type in the password and press ENTER. You will now be logged in. Once your telnet client starts, there is nothing special to remember or do. Just log in to the remote computer and start work.

Connecting to a Specific Port Number

Within the Internet, many of the hosts offering telnet access to public services require you to specify a specific PORT NUMBER when you make the connection. The port number identifies the type of service that you are requesting. The term PORT refers to a connection between two devices or systems.

How to use telnet from within Netscape

To telnet to a remote computer from within Netscape, make sure you have a telnet application defined within Netscape's General Preferences, Apps. Then, you can either enter the telnet address in the location input field (replace http://xxxxx with telnet://xxxx) or you can click on File, choose Open Location, type the remote computer's address in the location input field, click on Open. From this point on, follow the instructions on the screen. Note the telnet drop down menus.

Oh, happy days!! Blogger, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided to give us inline comments!!! I have waited and waited. Tried hack after hack, but couldn't get any to work. Now it is there for the clicking!

If you have a straightforward template the change is extremely simple. You must got to the Blogger in Draft dashboard. Go to Settings | Comments | Comment Form Placement. Then select Embedded below post. Save and that is it.

For those of us that have done extensive customization to the template, there are a few more steps. First, follow the above instructions. Then do a quick check on a post page and see if the inline comment form is in place. If not, this is what I had to do to my template. Remember each template is different, and it may take some trial and error. Save your template before beginning.Go to your Dashboard | Layout | Edit HTML | Expand Widget Templates. The key word I looked for to get me where I needed was comment-footer.

Side note: did you know that in Firefox you can go to Edit | Find in This Page... That will open a little bar at the bottom of the window. Type in the word you want to search for. In this instance, I typed in comment-footer. Then click next. Each time you click it, you will be taken to the next instance of that word or phrase in the page!!

Find:

Has Your WordPress Blog Already Been Hacked?

There are several exploits targeting WordPress blogs that insert HTML into old posts or into the page template itself. Here are a few procedures that you should follow regularly to check on the health of your blog.

Search existing posts

Goto Manage Posts in the WordPress admin section.
In the ?Search terms?? field enter one of the following:
- iframe
- script
- href
Click ?Filter?

This will show any posts that contain the above HTML keywords. Unless you?re writing about HTML your posts will probably not contain these keywords. If they do show up in a post and it?s something that you wrote, don?t worry about it. The presence of these keywords are an indicator that someone else may have injected something into your posts. But if you wrote it, then you?re fine.

The reason I search for these particular keywords is that an attacker usually wants to gain something from your blog: a way to install badware on your visitors? computers (iframe), a blanket way to manipulate your blog output (script), or a simple link (href).

Search existing comments

Repeat the above procedure for comments on the Comments admin page.

View HTML

Visit your blog and view the HTML source. Search for the same iframe, script and href keywords on a couple of different types of pages:

Home page
And individual post
Your about page

There will be a lot of matches on the href keyword, but the links should all go to your own blog or other places that you know you have linked to. If you find links to web sites that hawk various body enlargement pills, then you have probably been compromised.

Google AdWords and other advertisement networks often use JavaScript includes. So does BlogRush. If you trust the network, then there is no reason to worry about these script statements.

Iframes are sometimes legitimately used by affiliate promotions, for example Amazon product links. Again if you trust the vendor you?re fine. Earlier in the week I wrote about a current exploit which adds an iframe to the wp-stats-php.info site. If you see any such iframes, that?s really bad.

Google Webmaster Tools

Google supposedly marks pages that have been banned from their index due to malware in their Webmaster Tools. You should definitely have a Google Webmaster Tools account to get information on how Googlebot sees your web site and lots of useful search statistics. The banned page indication is an extra bonus.

Repeat Often

You should repeat all the above procedures on a regular basis. I know that?s a pain! But dealing with a compromised blog is much worse. Compared to the countless hours you spend on writing great blog posts and engaging in conversations with your readers, it doesn?t take that much time to keep your blog safe.

For those who haven't seen the news yet, Google has announced TiSP, a free in-home wireless broadband service. It's in BETA, and those wishing to participate must apply TODAY, April 1, 2007.

Installation couldn't be simpler: Remove the spindle of fiber optic cable from the installation kit, activate the patented "GFLush" system which connects the cable to one of thousands of TiSP Access Nodes, where Plumbing Hardware Dispatchers (PHDs) complete the access point connection.

Drawbacks: Google Toolbar must be installed, presumably so Google can serve up their ads on this advertising supported service.

Don't forget, incidentally, that today is Internet Spring Cleaning Day.

Quick intro to hacking autorun for USB flash drives

"Disclaimer: This tutorial is designed to show existing vulnerabilities and should only be used on systems you own, or have permission to execute this on. Removable media devices don?t deploy malicious code and steal data, people do."

Autorun will not work with ?regular? USB flash drives the way that they do with CD-ROMs, but there are some tricks that you can do that will come very close. I say ?regular? in that as many may know there are ways of modifying U3 drives so that they appear as CD-ROMs on Windows systems and can thus use autorun to silently run your ?tools? without any indication anything is happening. The U3 hack however is a bit more complicated, I will do another ?How to? on that later. For now let?s just discuss how we can create an autorun.inf file on a regular ?ol USB flash drive that will do some interesting things.

Also it is important to mention that some of these techniques will even work if autoplay is disabled!

First, although we cannot have an application run automatically with a traditional USB drive, we can make it so that when a USB drive is plugged we have Windows make a suggestion to the user and all they need to do is click ?OK? to a specific application or script you have deployed to the flash drive.

First in Notepad create a file called autorun.inf and save it to the root of your USB flash drive of choice. In the autorun file put this:

The first parameter is ?icon? this tells Windows what icon to use as the icon image for the drive etc. This is important for the social engineering portion of the trick, you must consider your target. The image you choose should help instill trust in the application they are about to run, maybe a tantalizing icon of a scantly clad babe, a puppy, or my favorite a cute little cartoon devil holding a USB flash drive.

The ?open? parameter indicates the program you wish to run, this can be an executable, or as in this case a .bat file. You could even call a .bat file which calls a series of executables. Go crazy.

The next parameter is ?action? this is what will trigger the autorun dialog to appear. This text will appear in the dialog box along with your icon, so you probably want make this friendly, something like ?Fun Game,? you probably don?t want to put something like ?Click ?OK? to install backdoors and trojans!?.

Now unplug your flash drive and then replug it in, a dialog box like this should now appear:

So this is not as good as automatically running the application, but is useful nonetheless and there have actually been successful simulations where this has been used. A security consultancy used this technique as a proof of concept to test a credit union client of theirs. Several drives used this simple technique to run exectue a trojan that sent some simple data to an external email account. They scattered the drives in the parking lot, several employees picked the drives up on their way into work and within a short amount of time the email account they had set up was receiving emails.

Now we have our basic autorun.inf setup. But notice that if you click cancel and then click on the drive you just see the contents of the drive. However we can take this one step further, if the user is smart and their spidey senses are tingling from the dialog menu that appears and they click cancel, with the addition of one more line of code to the autorun.inf file that will automatically execute the code we specify when they click the drive either from ?My Computer? or Explorer. This is different than a true autorun as it still requires a user to take an action to exectue the application, but still a significant security risk.

Add these lines to your autorun.inf file

OK save it and then unplug and plug the drive back in again. This time when the prompt appears hit ?cancel?. Now go to double click the drive under ?My Computer?. The application will automatically execute. By the way, this second portion will still work even if autoplay is disabled on a system and is actually more dangerous than the dialog in my opinion.

So what if we don?t want to execute a command on the drive and just open a webpage? You could execute Explorer in your .bat file to do this, or in the exectuble you run, but there is a quick and easy way to do this in the autorun.inf file. Replace the last line with this instead:

Our Future Laptop in 2015

"Between now and 2015, we expect to see a series of big changes that will redefine what a notebook is and what it looks like," said Mike Trainor, Intel Corp.'s evangelist for mobile products.With crystal ball in hand, we talked to designers, engineers and marketers about how notebooks are likely to change over the next seven years.

Concepts for the future

First, let's take a look at some concept notebooks. Just as futuristic show cars give us insight into what we might be driving in the future, concept notebooks offer a sneak peek at how we'll be computing.

These concept notebooks typically are created by independent designers and firms retained by laptop vendors. This is highly secretive business -- the designers we spoke were willing to talk about some of their concepts but couldn't tell us who they were working for.

Rarely does a concept notebook make it to the real world as a whole unit, but certain aspects often make it into production. Early 1990s concept devices contained integrated pointing devices, speakers and webcams, all of which are now standard equipment. It's likely that at least some of the new ideas, components and features showcased below will be coming to a notebook near you.

For example, several concept laptops rely on touch-sensitive screens that act as the system's keyboard and mouse and go beyond today's multi-touch technology. Imagine being able to slide your finger across the screen to immediately shut off the display and keep what you're working on confidential, and you get an idea of its potential.

Compenion

The Compenion concept notebook from independent designer Felix Schmidberger in Stuttgart, Germany, borrows heavily from slider cell phones to move beyond the clamshell. Rather than lifting the lid open, just slide it up.

The pair of superbright organic LED panels slide into place next to each other, with the lower panel acting as keyboard or scribble pad. The whole thing is only three-quarters of an inch thick.

"It reduces thickness, but the slider was more about the feel of using the notebook," said Schmidberger. "The idea is to break free from traditional notebook hardware without having to adapt to new ways of using a computer."

Together, the 11-in. screens will yield about 16 inches of usable workspace, so the system has the dimensions and weight of a thin and light system but the screen of a larger one.

Canova

Dual-screen systems could well be the rage in seven years. The Canova from V12 Design, a Milan, Italy-based design firm, is closer to the tried and true clamshell layout, but with a twist.

Instead of a display and a mechanical keyboard, the device has two touch-sensitive displays: The upper screen is primarily for viewing applications, and the lower screen is for the mundane activities of typing, drawing and jotting notes. But the Canova can also lie flat for a large expanse of working space.

According to designer Valero Cometti, "the idea was to close the gap between man and machine." This notebook changes personality depending on how it's held. Opened all the way, it's a sketch pad. Fold it half open and rotate it 90 degrees, and it's an e-book. By emulating a musical keyboard on the lower half, when it's flat on a table, it can be a go-anywhere piano.

Siafu

Who needs a screen at all? Long Beach, Calif.-based independent designer Jonathan Lucas' eccentric Siafu concept can touch you, literally. That's because Siafu is for the blind and has no screen.

"The idea was to open a new realm of digital interface for the visually impaired by enhancing and even surpassing existing technologies that currently cater to this group," said Lucas.

Because the blind can't see what's on the screen, Siafu converts images into corresponding 3-D shapes that are created with Magneclay, an oil-based synthetic material that instantly forms shapes in response to electrical fields.

In such hands-on computing, you interact with Siafu with your fingers to feel the bumps and protrusions that pop up. The Magneclay surface could be used for reading a Braille newspaper, feeling the shape of someone's face or going over a tactile representation of a blueprint.

Cario

Imagine a system that is at home in a car, in an Internet café or on a hotel desk, and you have the job description of Anna Lopez' Cario.

"The concept offers several ways of working on the move or at a desk," explained U.K.-based independent designer Lopez.

Equal parts form, function and fashion, this concept replaces the traditional lid hinge with a shiny bar that -- as the name implies -- is a carrying handle. It also allows the lid to fold up for travel and can be converted into a an easel or sit on a car's steering wheel.

Not surprisingly, then, Cario comes into its own on the road. So the driver doesn't get cross-eyed or crook-necked by looking down at the screen when it's locked into the steering wheel, Cario has a microprojector that projects its images onto the vehicle's windshield. This heads-up display can show maps, videoconferences and find the closest gas station.

Changing materials

Some changes and new functionality in the laptops we'll use in 2015 will come about because of significant advances in the materials used to create the devices. Magneclay is just one example.

Another example is a change in the plastics used in the notebook case. In fact, by 2015, dropping a notebook might not be the catastrophe it can be today.

That's because a group at UCLA's Exotic Materials Institute led by Fred Wudl has come up with an epoxy that's strong, durable and can repair itself. Called Automend, small cracks can be sealed by just heating the surface with a hair dryer, making it a godsend for the clumsy among us.

Another example relates to peripherals used on the road. For instance, future mobile systems could easily include projectors, which will be reduced to about the size of a pack of cigarettes by 2015.

Because such projectors use a laser, "you can project images on a wall within a distance of several meters without having to adjust a lens," said Schmidberger. "It can even be bumpy or bent."

Powerful components

It doesn't take a very clear crystal ball to know that the next generation of notebooks will deliver much more computing power. And notebooks will also get smarter as components continue to shrink and more components get squeezed onto a sliver of silicon the size of a fingernail.

The result will be that notebooks will be able to perform tasks that we can only dream of today. Here's what our experts say those components will look like and what they'll be able to do.

Processors

It's a sure bet that we won't be using a mere single- or double-core processor by 2015. Most notebooks will have at least six computational cores, if not eight, according to the experts we contacted.

Such technology is available today, so it surely will be standard-issue on laptops of the future, the experts agreed. Having at least six computational cores at your disposal will not only make high-end simulations and data visualizations possible, but will also make for one heck of a game of Halo.
Missing your bus

The CPU's front-side bus will likely disappear by 2015. The bus acts like a traffic cop, sending data to the different parts of the system at a slower speed than the computational core. In its place will be an integrated controller that makes this distribution of data much more efficient by operating faster.

As with multiple-core processors, this trend is already under way -- Intel, for instance, has announced that its Nehalem CPU microarchitecture, set to debut later this year, will feature an integrated memory controller, eliminating the need for a front-side bus. However, it will take a long time for this trend to reach CPUs used in notebook computers -- the 2015 time frame seems reasonable, the experts agreed.

Storage

With most notebooks having built-in wireless broadband connections, a new onslaught of data is expected. As a result, where we'll store our accumulated files will be transformed.

According to Intel's Trainor, we'll see ever-more storage capacity in smaller and smaller packages, along with solid-state memory that is lighter and faster, while being more rugged and using less power.

Currently, adding 64GB of solid state capacity to a notebook's hard drive runs an extra $1,000. By 2015, the typical mainstream notebook could be outfitted with a 2TB hard disk drive, which should be plenty of room for even the biggest data hog, the experts speculated. For smaller and lighter machines, look to having something like 250GB of flash memory at your disposal, but it will likely come at a small premium.

There will be a new type of storage as well that has can boost performance, said Intel's Trainor. Currently, with Windows Vista, a USB flash memory key can act as an intermediate data cache for the system's hard drive.

This makes the most-used data more quickly available for the processor, streamlining its operation. Called Turbo or Robson memory, this technique will go into overdrive when the flash memory is put on the motherboard for faster access, Trainor noted.

Displays

We'll look at our notebooks in a different light in 2015 as sequential red, green, blue LED backlighting replaces the cold cathode fluorescent lighting tubes found in today's LCD screens. This technology will not only offer brighter images, but will also use less power.

Ultimately, organic LEDs will take over, although they may not be ready in time for a 2015 system in the sizes and quantities required for mass production. Because they make their own light, OLEDs can be made thinner than today's screens.

These screens have been used on phones for several years, and Sony's XEL-1 is the first TV to have an OLED display. Its 11-in. OLED screen is just over a tenth of an inch thick.

"We're very excited about OLEDs," said Trainor. "They're capable of producing beautiful, rich colors and using less power. It adds another choice."

In a more speculative vein, in seven years, we just might have 3-D displays that show the world as it really is. This will not only be great for gamers, but it can aid in representing complex data and displaying computer-aided designs.

Such displays could also revamp the way we interact with our desktops. Imagine an on-screen desktop that, rather than a flat expanse, has depth and perspective so that you can hide your list of passwords behind the icon for opening your Web browser.

More, better power

Most experts agree that future notebooks will be just as limited by battery life as they are now. But that doesn't mean we won't see significant advances in mobile power supplies -- such advances will be necessary to keep up with all the extra power.

While fuel cells that turn methanol into power showed promise over the past few years, batteries will continue to dominate the power scene. However, there will be a move from lithium-ion cells that have to be made in cylinders to lithium polymer cells that can be formed in a variety of shapes and sizes.

"This allows notebook designers to fill small nooks and crannies of a notebook with extra batteries," explained Trainor.

Powering up could also change with inductive charging, which is key to both the Compenion and Cario concept notebooks. Rather than plugging a cord into the notebook to charge it, you just put the notebook on a special surface that has an inductive power pad, and juice is sent wirelessly to charge the battery.

The payoff is that there's no AC power adapter to carry, but this new method of charging devices will work only if enough charging pads are available. They'd need to be at cafes, hotels and even on airliner tray tables. This technology is ready today, although it is a long way from being adopted widely enough to be useful.

"Inductive charging," said Lopez, "would allow easy access and a secure way to charge."

An innovative mobile approach to power is taken by Nikola Knezevic, a Serbian designer who has turned the clamshell format on its head with solar panels. His concept design, called, not surprisingly, the Solar Laptop Concept, has an extra hinged lid covered with solar cells that can be adjusted to get the most out of the sun.

It'll add a few tenths of an inch to the system's thickness and won't be able to fully charge the system, but when you're done, just fold it up and go.

Still, Trainor, who avidly follows developments of technologies such as solar power, cautioned against becoming too optimistic that this type of technology will make it easier to keep laptops of the future charged.

How To Enable Task Manager

Some Malware and Trojan often disable access to Windows Task Manager. Fortunately, a few quick Registry edits are usually all that are needed to regain control.

Here's how to do it:

Click Start
Click Run
Type REGEDIT
Click OK and The Registry Editor will now open
Browse to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\system
In the right pane, look for the value: DisableTaskMgr
Right click DisableTaskMgr and select Delete. (When prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete this value", select Yes.
Now browse to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system
In the right pane, look for the value: DisableTaskMgr
Right click DisableTaskMgr and select Delete. (When prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete this value", select Yes.
Close the Registry by choosing File | Exit
Restart your computer

You should now be able to access Task Manager. If not, reboot into Safe Mode and repeat the steps outlined above.

Installation

Run the installer and select your Winamp plugins directory and a location to copy the phone application.
When the installer is complete it will launch Winamp and the plugin will try to configure itself automatically. If you are using Microsoft Bluetooth drivers or the Widcomm stack, no manual changes should be needed. If you are using some other driver or are having trouble with the automatic settings, see the Bluetooth setup section below.
Send the ControlFreak.sis file to your phone using the "Send To" right click menu option in Explorer, or use the software provided by your Bluetooth adapter. You can install the application to either phone memory or MMC.
After installation on the phone a new item will appear in the application menu titled "CtrlFreak".

Bluetooth Setup
If you are using Windows XP with SP2 or higher and have a supported Bluetooth
device, setup is quite easy.
Open "Bluetooth Devices" in the Control Panel.
Pair your phone and computer using the "Add Bluetooth Device Wizard".
Open the ControlFreak plugin configuration dialog found in Winamp's preferences
Plug-ins -> General Purpose -> ControlFreak Plug-In (or use shortcut key Ctrl-F in Winamp's main window)
Select "Microsoft" as the Bluetooth driver.
Click "Start server".

Note: If for some reason you have trouble connecting using the Microsoft
Bluetooth driver, you could also try the instructions below.

If you are using a Bluetooth device that requires installed drivers, you should select "Installed other" as the Bluetooth driver. You then need to set the Bluetooth virtual serial port (also called a COM port) which the plugin will use to communicate to the phone application. This is usually pretty easy but it varies depending on your Bluetooth software. An important thing to remember is that your computer uses separate COM ports for incoming and outgoing connections. You need to check your Bluetooth software and be sure to use the incoming COM port.

Here are some step-by-step examples for finding the right COM Port and adjusting the security settings if necessary (your device might have different software but probably has similar settings).

Windows XP SP2 compatible device:
Open "Bluetooth Devices" in the Control Panel.
Pair your phone and computer using the "Add Bluetooth Device Wizard".
Select "COM Ports" tab
Note the Incoming port number for your phone. If no incoming port is listed you need to add it using the "Add..." button.

Widcomm Bluetooth (eg. IBM T40 laptop):
Open "My Bluetooth Places".
Right click "My Device" and select "Properties".
Under "Local Services", set existing Bluetooth Serial Port service to unsecure connection, or click Add Serial Service if it doesn't exist (check Startup Automatically, uncheck Secure Connection). Note the COM port number.

3Com USB Bluetooth adapter:
Open "Bluetooth Connection Manager".
Choose the "Tools\COM Ports" menu item.
Note the 3Com Bluetooth Serial Host port number. (not the 3Com Bluetooth Serial Client)
Tip: You can disable being prompted to allow connections by going to Tools\Security Mode, selecting "Custom" and then setting "Security Level" to "None".

Now that you know the incoming COM port, open the configuration window of the ControlFreak Winamp plug-in:

Enter the COM port into the combo box (if your incoming Bluetooth Serial port is COM8, you can type "8" or "COM8" into the COM Port field).
Click "Start server".

Tip: You can click "Search" to find all existing COM ports if you are not sure what are available. With certain configurations this could take a couple minutes and cause prompting to create Bluetooth connections. Just cancel any connection requests.

Plugin Configuration
Press Ctrl-F in Winamp to open the ControlFreak configuration window.
You can configure the following settings:

Connection
Startup with Winamp: If checked, the server will be started whenever Winamp starts. Recommended once successful connection has been made.

Spectrum Analyser
Latency (ms): The latency between sending data and it arriving on the phone.
This determines synchronisation of the spectrum data. You can set this to
"Auto detect" and let ControlFreak automatically adjust the latency.
Buffer spectrum data: Whether spectrum data should be collected in a buffer
before sending it to the phone. Unless you experience frame loss due to
variable latency of your Bluetooth adapter or high CPU load (like when
watching movies), you should leave this enabled.

Keymaps
Opens the customised keymap file for editing. Here you can set what keyboard
shortcuts are mapped to the phone keys for specific applications.
